Tamil Nadu Summer Seminar 2006 ::

Majority of the sahaj yogis reached the venue on 19 th May 2006 around 9.30am. By that time, the Sahaja Yogis from Theni, the advance party from Chennai and Sahaja Yogis from Kerala and Karnataka had got the venue ready. Totally there were about 150 participants – major portion from Tamil Nadu and remaining from Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka. All the participants freshened and got ready by 11am. Shri Mataji was brought in on an elephant in a procession. All Sahaja Yogis joined and were waving the flags containing Shri Mataji's photograph. As She came in every one sang “Swagat Agat”. The whole programme then started with meditation. A sahaja yogini rendered a few shlokas from Saundarya Lahari. Afterwards Shri P Vasudevan, Tamil Nadu coordinator explained about the arrangements, the programes and what we should be achieving by attending the seminar. After a short break an intensive programme of cleansing, purification and clearing was conducted with total participation of every Sahaja Yogi present. By Shri Mataji's Grace the results were astounding. Afterwards Shri Mataji's VCD titled “Attention should be on God” was shown. At the end of it every one together sang Vande Mataram. After Aarti lunch was served.

After lunch two Yuva Shaktis from Theni performed a welcome dance. This was followed by an interesting quiz programme. Then we had a tea break and after the break everyone went to the Suruli falls and enjoyed the walk. And some took bath also. Everyone reassembled around 7.15pm on the terrace to conduct the Havan. Dinner was served around 9.30pm.

Second day morning meditation was conducted at 6am. After that the details of shoe beating was explained and put into practice. All participants assembled around 10am after breakfast etc. Shri Mataji's VCD “The Supreme Source of Love” was played. After Meditation Shri Vasudevan spoke on a few aspects of Spiritual Maturity. Afterwards a Sahaja Yogi explained the way to recite “AUM”, as taught by Dr Apte at Vaitarana. After the subja break, we had a short Puja in which Shri Mataji's 108 names were recited. Lunch was served around 1.45pm after Aarati.

After lunch, 4 teams were formed and were asked to talk on a subject. All yogis participated quite enthusiastically and made a very good presentation. After tea, the participants were taken for out door collectivity and were explained the Lawn therapy. It was in an open place on the belly of a hillock surrounded by paddy fields, coconut groves and mountains. Everyone enjoyed and wanted to have shoe beating done in the same place next day. Shri Vasudevan then explained the significance of the Lawn therapy – earth element in the 5 chakras and by keeping them in contact with earth element, they get cleansed.

Next prog of cultural events was scheduled around 7pm. A few sahaja yogis started singing Bhajans even earlier. Meditation started around 7.15pm. We had dance by Theni Yoginis, skit by Chennai Yogis, Bhajans etc. After aarati dinner was served around 10pm. All Yogis wanted to continue the cultural programmes and it went on till midnight.

Third day again morning meditation was at 6am. Every one then went to the said open space and did shoe beating. After breakfast, Shri Mataji's VCD emphasizing the importance of meditation was played. Shri Vasudevan talked on “Stitaprajnya”. There was also a talk on “Protocols to be followed”. In the concluding session after this, the efforts of all the people were appreciated and mementos presented to them. Also all were asked to introspect on various signs of inner peace and if necessary make further efforts through meditation and attain them through the Blessings of Shri Mataji.

All enjoyed the Bliss through the benevolence of H H Shri Mataji and expressed their desire to have similar programmes every year in such ideal locations suitable for spiritual growth of Sahaja Yogis and spread of Sahaja Yoga.

As an immediate outcome of the seminar it is very gladdening to report that the owner of the venue, a Kalyana Mandapam (Marriage Hall), took self realisation along with a few relatives and workers and offered the venue for running a Sahaja Yoga Centre.

A few Sahaja Yogis practicing Sahaja Yoga silently in a remote place named Gudallur came to know of this seminar and joined the programme on the 3 rd day. They all and the Sahaja Yogis of Theni, Madurai and Dindigul came forward to collectively put more efforts to take Sahaja Yoga to the interior parts of these districts.

It was indeed very satisfying for the organizers to note that all neighbouring states have also participated in this seminar. Totally there were 151 participants. The break up is given in the table below.
